How to get a kill streak part two (Gear Step)

As mentioned I part one, this step will change the most. The reason being that the gear has to change with:
  • Map size and type
  • Player mood and play style
  • Game mode
  • Number of enemies and allies

Map

The map size will change the gear due to the space. Most gamers will find smaller maps more difficult to snipe, while larger maps will discourage SMGs. Due to every game randomizing their playlist, this requires the player to have multiple load outs. Tighter spaces on a map will also warrant more grenades. Clustered enemies can be easier to kill then spread out ones.

A player's colors is considered apart of the gear. While this is usually overlooked, or not able to be change, good players will change their gear color to better suit the maps type. This will allow players to better prepare their escape if injured during a shootout. Also, this can cause players to get kills easier by sneaking in the background.

Player

Players mood will change load outs significantly. An angry or more aggressive player is more likely going to be a run and gun player. This load out consists of an assault rifle or SMG, grenades, lighter armor, and a pistol (depending on game). Shot guns can be used in this load out sparingly, for smaller maps.

A calmer player can utilize a relaxed play style. This would include a sniper rifle or longer ranged assault rifle, a pistol, flash grenades, and heavier armor. The assault rifle would best at semi-auto or burst shot mode, at longer ranges. If a player can get close, the assault rifle can be changed to full auto to discourage a player for approaching closer.

For Call Of Duty only, a player can be brave and have no weapons. The player can pick up a weapon from a dead enemy. This choice is a good way for a player to test how well they can adapt to a situation using what they find. While this choice is slightly unconventional, it allows for more perk options. The perk Scavenger is a must have for this load out, due to a scavenged weapon having less ammo then a self owned weapon. This option, in my opinion, can definitely be a starter load out to plan for the kill streaks later in the game mode.

Game

The game mode can slightly alter the gear that is needed. A single player mode, depending on play style, will need a faster character. This will allow out maneuvering of your opponents, which is the most important in a free for all status.

In a team death match, or any team objective game mode, the gear is to be better suited for team play. Armor style is not as important during team matches. The only criteria is that the gear has the ability to complete the objective.

Numbers

This part of the step is another step that changes with game mode. However since most playlists are geared around the game mode, the number of enemies/allies will be know prior to the matches start. For modes with allies, the most important necessity is stability, since you can rely on your partners to back you up in case of the need to reload.

In cases with no team, the ammunition, in my opinion, will be essential. Since the ability to out maneuver the enemy may not always be available. The choice of a stable weapon and the addition of a larger magazine would be ideal.

Misc.

The only important topic not mentioned is damage output. The ability to do large amounts of damage at one time is very important. However, damage output will always come with a price, be it agility or stability. To offset damage output is to shoot your opponent in the head, but that will be discussed further in the next section.

Can you take what you've read and apply it properly? A great gamer has the ability to adapt readily to any situation. Thus the gear step is most important step in gamer growth.
