Dangers in Free to Play games

The name for this style of game development is self explanatory. Free to play games, which can be seen as Free-to-Play, are games that do not have to be paid for to play initially. This can be a great decision for a game designing company if they are testing their gaming style out.

There are two advantages to free to play development:

1. They are able to write the game off as a research and development cause. This will allow them to wash their hands with the game completely if the game does not do well. Also, they can ask for, or pay for the opinions of their players, normally this would be done during testing. However they may be able to save money this way.
2. They are able to produce a easier solutions by change from the Free to play style, therefore allowing players to play for free, as a beta. Then after all the research for the gamers is collected, they can make a portion of new released data to be available, per subscription only.

There are many disadvantages to this strategy however. To list two:

1.  The company may not have grossed enough revenue in its other ventures. This problem could cause the company to be sold, or dissolve all together. Thus the game may be altered by the new company, or the servers may also be lost and unmaintained.
2. The company may do extremely well, but lost an extremely large sum of revenue based on the fact that the game is free to play.

This can show to prove money can be the root of all evil.

Before, the option to buy in game data was mentioned. This can, and will lead to an extreme disadvantage to the younger, or less wealthy population. While there is no way to smartly add additional content without a fee of some kind, this causes an advantage based on how much you can contribute.

Free to play games are not truly bad though. It can be important to realize that at some point, a free to play game will offer items for those who will contribute. There for it is not a good idea to play one if you have no intention to add a contribution.

Skyrim

Yesterday was a day off. Skyrim is a beautiful way for someone to relax. The builds that you can use are very amazing. There are entire Wikis and blogs dedicated only builds. Here is one of the most interesting, yet difficult builds anyone has seen, as it has been ranked a legendary build. The build by yours truly will be in a post a little later. Until then Rest Easy!

Twitch player

I have made an embedded player for my twitch account. It is located on the right side, above the systems owned tab. I will make post saying when I'm online. I play on PS4 (Lil_Pauls), so join me when you get a chance and Rest Easy.

GBA4IOS

An application for all cellular devices that can result in nostalgia. This gameboy/gameboy advanced emulator can play almost any game for the system that has a file downloadable online. As difficult as that might sound, the team that made this mobile app were generous enough to provide links to many of the files.

Legal matters might sway your hand, however there is in fact a legal document that states 'digital copies of a game may be obtained if the person has owned a hard copy, or purchased the download once before.

Knife Challenge

This is a challenge to see how many kills you can get in any game using on knifes (knifes and throwing knifes as well). Post the game and then tomorrow the challenge starts. All systems welcome. Rest Easy and let's see how well you can knife.

PSP day

Good morning everyone, today (at least for me) is PSP day. I'm going to be play Final Fantasy Tactics and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. I haven't played these games in a couple weeks, so I'll probably be really bad at it. Ah well, I'll still enjoy it, Rest Easy!!

Youtube

Has anyone just plainly looked at youtube.com. Every single suggested video is of Sword
Art Online. Most of the videos are of the single player rpg that is a what if Kirito never beat the game but instead the boss lagged out and he would've had to face him on the hundredth floor. Yes, it is a very good looking game, but until it is in English (or even Spanish) then it doesn't really benefit me to know that is has a game. I'd be extremely excited if there was one that I could play (I'd also enjoy playing Gun Gale Online). Oh well, Rest Easy!!
